It was a great Christmas Celebration
. By the grace of God, I was allowed to take some parts in 2 Christmas Celebration in 2 different homogeneous service this year. First was YABS Christmas Celebration, and the other one was BES Christmas Celebration. And great joy is overwhelming me now. It is very amazing that i can work together with a lot of multitalents people in the church. Today, I would like to to share what i have learnt from yesterday and today’s Christmas Celebration.
In YABS Christmas Celebration yesterday, taking “When Love Comes Down” as its theme, Ibu Betty Handojo shared with us about the GRACE. She shared with us about how she learnt about the precious of a single breath of her life. It is too often that we take everything in our life for granted. When we lose it, or when we know that we are going to lose a precious thing in our life, for example when we are sick, then we realize how precious they are for us … When we are healthy, we never give thanks for God. We just take everything for granted.
Every single thing in our life is grace from God. If God’s grace runs away from our life, it is easily for us to be vanished in this world. We are like dusts that will be vanished as the wind blows.
In some certain conditions and situations, God allows bad things happen into our life. Somebody said that life is like a wheel, sometimes you are at the top of it, sometimes you are at the bottom. But God lead us to pass through the valley, and we are just PASSING the valley, not staying there forever… If you are in a struggling circumstances now, trust in God, He will definetly and certainly bring you out from there. Don’t be afraid to take the first step, God is with you.
Today, in the BES Christmas Celebration, I learnt two things. Some testimony were shared in this sermon. And when brother Gilbert shared his testimony with us, I just heard God’s voice very clearly spoke to me, “Trust in the Lord”. Brother Gilbert shared that how God blessed him abundantly in a very unique and surprising ways. He never expected that he will get additional bonus from the project that is finished in the past few months. Moreover, he shared also with us how he tried and learnt to more and more surrender in God. When he was told that he had to choose one of two uncertain career paths’ option in his workfield, he faced a great confusion and hesitate. But then, Ps Niko asked him to Trust in the Lord only. One thing that I learnt was, when we Trust in the Lord only, when we put our burden on His hands, don’t try to help Him. Just release the burden on His hands, don’t try to help God carrying your burden because when we do that, God’s work cannot be completely done in our life.
In the BES sermon today, Pastor Djohan Handojo shared with us about the power of thanksgiving. We often come to the Lord asking for many things and needs in our life, but we often forget to lift up our thanksgiving as well. Whereas, by thanksgiving, God is pleased. God is pleased when He hears praise and worship from His sons and daughters. We are God’s sons and daughters, how often we bring our prayer along with thanksgiving? Because only God alone deserve to be glorified. Let we bring our thanksgiving first in every prayer that we lift up instead of asking and pushing God to answer our pray. God loves His sons and daughters. Nothing is impossible for God. Whatever your prayer is, God is able. The questions are, is your life in the right track? Is your life bringing glory to God? Is God pleased with our prayers, our actions, and every words that come out from our mouth? Give thanks to the LORD, because He has given His only son Jesus Christ for us.
God Bless You
